Winner of the 2014 Emmy for Outstanding Informational Series or Special, HBO's VICE documentaries tackled the most compelling and hard-hitting news stories from around the globe. For Season 5, I worked with Emmy award-nominated VICE Producer,  Beverly Chase and Emmy and Peabody award-winning Executive Producer Tim Clancy, to build scenes that sharpened the personal and cultural conflicts surrounding the controversial issue of using of hormone blockers in today's youth ages 5-18.  While we couldn't begin to address the scope of this complex issue within the 30 minute program limit, we imagined this as a conversation starter to address the real-life impact of healthcare policies on transgendered youth.
